I took the following photos while hiking at Red Rock last weekend. It was a perfect day and I hiked alone. The weather is getting hot and that means active reptiles are about. There were plenty of lizards and desert wildflowers.
Currently, life is good. I'm trucking along on the graduate degree river of tears, wrapping up another year of teaching, and looking forward to the state convention up in Reno where I've been chosen as a delegate. More than anything else, Lola is healthy, Gwen is happy, and I've been going to the gym regularly again. I realize that this post is syrupy sweet but I've had a relaxing weekend. I managed to avoid the news for a couple of days, hunker down, and play Mario Kart with friends. Tonight I went out to eat by myself, ran into some students and had a good conversation. The weekend ended with Gwen and myself taking turn going to movies. She went to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I went to see Iron Man. Both movies were worth checking out.
